Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress, is known for her work in film and on television since the mid 1980s. Bassett has been awarded a variety of accolades including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Since the late 80s she has been working in film and TV. Her work has been recognized with many awards, including the 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett comes from New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett's mother had split from her father when she was approximately five. She and her younger sister then went into St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett watched the James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play as she was still in highschool and realized that it was acting she was looking to pursue. She went to Yale University New Haven Connecticut earning a bachelor's diploma (1980) with a major in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. In 1997, she was married Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies, 1980. Master in Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama School: Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (seventh grade) Azalea Middle School (eighth and ninth grade) Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her lead roles, Ramonda, in the action-adventure movie i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
